"Lone wolves" has posted an article about T-DOSE 2007

In its second year, T-Dose, the Dutch Open Source event aimed at developers takes place in Eindhoven. Your two LXer editors went there to find out what's happening and what's new in open-source land. Todays topics include QTopia for PDA's and smartphones, open source software in the iLiad digital paper device, KDE4 application programming, the Lodel publishing tool, efficient data structures and how to overtake proprietary software without writing code.

T-DOSE 2007 The After Match

This year a rather small group of enthousiastic people gathered to divide the tasks. Milestones arrived and passed. The website got a makeover. Call for paper and articles were written and distributed, e-mails and pdf's sent to organisations that helped in setting T-DOSE 2007 on the calendar of many people.

T-DOSE 2007 Internet broadcast

Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October 2007 T-DOSE will be broadcasted over the Internet by CityTV. Everybody not able to attend T-DOSE can still follow the event through the Internet. The broadcasts can be viewed by everybody running a free or proprietary operating system. The streams supports QuickTime(tm) and VLC media player. CityTV will broadcast a selection of the talks.

Last minute changes to schedule

The last week a few speakers cancelled due to circumstances. T-DOSE organisation is very sorry to not have Julian Todd and Francis Irving talk about their "Hacking Democracy" at T-DOSE 2007. They canceled due to upcoming selections in UK. Here is an excerpt from the cancellation:

Eindhoven roads closed on Sunday 14th October due to Marathon Eindhoven

T-DOSE 2007 is held in the same weekend as the Marathon Eindhoven. Luckily only the Sunday 14th October will overlap. Travelers to the T-DOSE event location by car, train, bus, bike or foot should be aware of this. During the Marathon several roads will not be open for cars or people on foot/bike. See the map on the website of Marathon Eindhoven it indicates which streets are closed.

IRC channel

Sven Guckes opened a IRC channel on irc.freenode.net for T-DOSE related issues. Looking for someone to travel with to T-DOSE? Ask on the irc channel #t-dose. Looking for other hints on location, just ask there.

Help Promoting T-DOSE and get in the "Hall Of Fame"

The second edition of T-DOSE will being held on 13th and 14th October 2007 at the Fontys College of Applied Science. Check the website for more details on the location itself and how to get there.

As all of you might know T-DOSE is not well known yet, so we need help in promotion. Just like last year it is possible to make it to the "Hall Of Fame" on T-DOSE website. Just put a link to T-DOSE on your own website and tell us about it. In return we will link your website.

Social Event

On Saturday night the speakers diner was on the agenda. After closing and cleaning up the conference location all headed for the Greek restaurant. The speakers diner turned out to be more a social event, since besides speakers also visitors attended the evening. It was a big success.
